Working Hour System Consulting
Korea government introduced new working hour system since 2018.7.1 which caused lots of confusion in workplace labor management.
◆ Basic approach
How to cope with working hour reduction is a kind of culture change, meaning changing way of working, leadership of managers and etc.
Basic approach goes three ways;
First, to change working culture. Focus on work during working time, short meeting or abolish unnecessary meeting, automatic pc-off at the closing time, prior approval for excess work (overtime, night, holiday working)
Second, to introduce flexible working hour system. Various kinds of working hour: flexible working hour, regarded working hour, selective working hour, discretional working hour. When company adopt these flexible working hours, it doesn’t have to pay or minimize o/t compensation.
Third, to make it clear and give guideline regarding grey area (border line) for example business travel, education and training, Workshop or seminar, treatment, company dinner or get-together,

- If you just need to know legal standard, government guideline, or market practice and etc. about working hour reduction which explained above, it can be covered by ‘Regular Consulting Service’
However, change or set up new working hour system needs in-depth consulting and is not covered by above regular consulting service. - In-depth consulting consists of diagnosis of company’s current working system, comprehension of problem, develop solution or countermeasures, draft necessary agreement or regulation for new system, for example flexible working hour and etc.
The budget and period for such in-depth consulting depends on how complex the case is.
